Here, you will find the 4 steps needed to prepare for next school year. It is important that these actions are completed by the first day of school to ensure a successful start, as STRIVE Prep becomes Rocky Mountain Prep this summer.
We are excited to announce Tricia Noyola as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 2, 2022!
Originally, as part of the merger with Rocky Mountain Prep announced in August, Tricia was going to take the lead as CEO beginning July 2023. But as we started working through the integration process this year, we realized that having her lead as CEO sooner rather than later would allow for better integration of our two networks.
Our students, staff, and community will be best served this year by having a clear vision and consistent leadership from Tricia. Families can expect things to remain the same for the remainder of the school year; teachers, schools, sports, and other programs and services are not impacted as a result of the CEO change for the current school year.
We are excited that Tricia is willing to take on this role earlier. Tricia knows from her own lived experience the transformative power of education for all students. Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, she was mentored by family, friends, and educators to reach her full potential. Thanks to her strong leadership, Rocky Mountain Prep is a great place for teachers to work and for students to learn. RMP schools have all been given a Green rating by the Colorado Department of Education and, due to its high performance, RMP recently received a $4.5 million grant from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.
As we announced in August, by uniting with Rocky Mountain Prep, STRIVE Prep will gain four high-performing ECE to 5th-grade elementary schools, currently operated by Rocky Mountain Prep. This will be a great addition to STRIVE Prep schools which next year will include: five elementary schools, six middle schools, and two high schools in the Denver metro area.

Tricia is eager to better get to know you and our entire STRIVE Prep community. In the coming weeks, Tricia and the team will be scheduling school meetings for families. That information will be communicated to you once we have it so stay tuned.

Due to the rising level of COVID infections and positivity rates in Denver, Denver Public Schools has announced today that 3rd-5th graders will be virtual starting next Monday, November 2, and will remain that way at least through Thanksgiving break. STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill will follow this guidance and timeline, as well. Center programs and grades K-2 will continue with in-person and virtual learning the way we currently are operating.
We are assessing our ability to offer remote learning centers, which would allow a much smaller number of students in those grades to continue coming to school to take part in their online lessons with in-person adult supervision. We will have an update on remote learning centers by the end of day tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28.
All of this comes after yet another great day today at STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill, both online and in person. We know these changes are not easy and we appreciate how our community continues to handle these challenges with such grace and excellence. We truly appreciate your support.
Although we had hoped to continue to provide in person learning for all of our students at STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill, our number one focus continues to remain on student and staff health and safety.
As a reminder, all STRIVE Prep 6-12 students will remain in remote learning through the new year.

Dear STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill Families,
I hope you and your loved ones are well and healthy at this time. I am writing today with an update for Quarter 2. Denver Public Schools has announced that kindergartners will be returning to in person learning on September 28. Though we are excited to welcome our youngest learners back when it is safe to do so, after much consideration and input from staff and families, we have determined that STRIVE Prep-Ruby Hill kindergartners and 1st graders will not return to in person learning until our original return date of October 21 for the following reasons:
Our Quarter 2 planning committee has met and reviewed the CDC health guidelines, recent health metrics, and family and staff feedback from surveys, and determined that, pending consistent or improving health data over the next month, STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill students may return for all grades K-5 in Quarter 2. Our timeline is as follows:
When making a decision regarding your student’s plan for Quarter 2, please consider the following proposed plan for in-person learning:

Please note that though we think this is the most likely version of what school will look like in Quarter 2, things may change depending on health metrics and the numbers of students and staff that decide to return in person. You can always choose to move to remote learning at any time. Families that choose to be remote are expected to remain remote for the remainder of the quarter due to the challenges of planning for additional and unexpected students in the building during this time. If a family chooses remote learning for their student and has a significant change in circumstances that makes learning in person a necessity, that family should contact the principal’s office to make arrangements.
Please let us know if your student is planning on returning to school in person October 21st or if they plan on remaining in remote learning HERE by Friday, September 25.
