STRIVE Prep - Sunnyside will be moving to a primarily remote learning model for one week of school beginning Tuesday, January 4 and continuing through Friday, January 7, 2022 with regular in person classes resuming on Monday, January 10.
As you know, the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has had a significant impact across the country and has hit our school community especially hard. As a result, we believe the best way we can provide a safe and productive learning environment is through a hybrid model where few students are in-person and our primary instruction for students is online.
Schools across the country, including many Colorado schools, are facing staff shortages due to COVID-19 and are having to cancel class or move to remote learning. During this period, STRIVE Prep will focus on providing high quality virtual instruction to all students.
It is important to us that families have a clear understanding of a predictable schedule, with enough time as possible to adapt to the changing circumstances. That’s why we’re planning for the entire week, rather than shifting decisions every day.
We understand having your child at home during this remote learning period may create challenges in a number of ways. There will be an in-person Learning Center available, which can support a small group of students, on campus during the remote learning period. Your child’s advisor or another member of the Sunnyside team will be reaching out today via phone call or text to answer any questions you may have about remote learning and the learning center. During this time, you can share your interest in participating in the learning center while Sunnyside is in remote learning.
What you need to do:
- Pick up your child’s laptop on Monday, January 3, from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the STRIVE Prep - Sunnyside campus (4735 N Pecos).
- If you are unable to pick up your child’s computer during that time, staff will be at Sunnyside from 7:00 am -5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 4. If you are unable to come to the school either of those times, please contact the front office at (720)723-2000 to make other arrangements.
- Spend time with your child reviewing their remote learning schedule. You will receive this schedule when you pick up your materials.
- Create a dedicated learning space at home for your child.

STRIVE Prep - Sunnyside tendrá clases principalmente a distancia (en línea) durante una semana comenzando el martes 4 de enero hasta el viernes 7 de enero de 2022. Las clases normales en persona volverán a iniciar el lunes 10 de enero.
Como saben, la variante Omicron de COVID-19 ha tenido un impacto importante en el país y ha afectado a nuestra comunidad escolar de una manera muy fuerte. Como resultado, creemos que la mejor manera de proporcionar un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro y productivo es con un modelo híbrido, donde pocos estudiantes estén en persona y nuestras clases principales para los estudiantes sean en línea.
Las escuelas en todo el país, incluyendo muchas escuelas de Colorado, están enfrentando escasez de personal debido al COVID-19 y están teniendo que cancelar clases o trabajar de manera remota. Habrá un Centro de Aprendizaje en persona disponible, que puede apoyar a un grupo pequeño de estudiantes en la escuela durante el periodo de aprendizaje remoto. El asesor de su hijo u otro miembro del equipo de Sunnyside se comunicarán con ustedes hoy por teléfono o mensaje de texto para responder las preguntas que tengan sobre el aprendizaje remoto y el centro de aprendizaje. Cuando les llamen pueden decir si les interesa participar en el centro de aprendizaje mientras Sunnyside está con clases en línea.

- Si no pueden recoger la computadora de sus hijos en ese horario, habrá personal de Sunnyside de 7:00 am a 5:00 pm el martes 4 de enero. Si no pueden ir a la escuela en ninguno de esos horarios, por favor, pónganse en contacto con la oficina al (720)723-2000 para que les ayuden.
- Pasen tiempo con sus hijos revisando su horario para las clases en línea. Recibirán el horario cuando recojan los materiales en la escuela.
- Busquen un espacio especial en casa para que sus hijos puedan estudiar.
