As we dive head first into our new school year, we’re looking back to measure our progress in meeting last year’s Big Five — and looking forward to meeting our new Big Five goals for this year!

While our intervention students averaged at least a year of growth across all grades, we ultimately missed the two-year growth goal for students receiving intervention. While we fell short of this goal, we feel strongly that our literacy programming and ongoing work in this area will continue to accelerate student learning and reading achievement, and we are very proud of our progress.
Additionally, network-wide, third-grade scholars receiving intervention support had the strongest growth, growing on average 1.2 years in one year! Performance in third grade is a strong indicator of future success, so this is very promising data.
In order to raise the bar in academic rigor, we set very ambitious goals for our CMAS scores, and we are proud of our scholars’ achievements in ELA and Math. Be on the lookout for updates on our CMAS growth scores, which measure student progress from year to year, in the coming weeks. We are thrilled to report our network-wide ELA data has already surpassed our scholars’ performance in 2019!

Though we fell *just* short of this goal with an average daily attendance of 95.3% (averaged over each campus), this was exceptional progress for our students and team!
To put this number in perspective, RMP’s average daily attendance for the 2020-21 school year was 91.5%, showing year-over-year growth of 3.8%. That’s huge! Scholars at RMP attended school more frequently than their peers at surrounding schools, meaning they received more instructional time.
Our network-wide Persistence for the 2021-22 school year was 91.2%, with every campus exceeding our goal of 90%!
This means that more than 91% of students and families who chose RMP last year are staying at RMP this year! See Persistence data* for each campus below:

We know that strong relationships make a world of difference in providing opportunity for our scholars, and we could not be more grateful for such a loving community. We are incredibly proud of our scholars, teachers, staff, and RMP community at large for your dedication to our scholars’ success and to the embodiment of Rigor and Love!
Our Big Five goals for the 2022-23 school year take into account our progress from last year, our current priorities as a network, and the ever-changing landscape of student success in Denver:
While some of these goals are similar to last year’s, two focus on new metrics and priorities: reading millionaires and teacher retention.
Millionaires are scholars who read a million words by the end of the school year. In the 2021-22 school year, more than 700 scholars qualified as millionaires and/or dreambox champions (completed 5 or more dreambox lessons per week), and their hard work paid off with a celebratory trip to the Denver Zoo!
To reach this level of success with our scholars, the first step is establishing and maintaining close teacher-student relationships. That’s why we are aiming for 85% of teachers to stay at RMP.
