Principal NoteLobos Family,

This week STRIVE Prep - Federal hosted the first Family Council meeting of the school year. The families who attended made it clear that respectful classroom behavior is at the forefront of minds. More specifically, families are concerned that some students are making it especially difficult for all students to learn. Know that I hear that feedback. All STRIVE Prep - Federal students have the right to learn.  In the coming weeks, I will be inviting families into our classrooms for co-observations and debriefs so that we can focus on increasing respect as one united community.

Somos Lobos!

Fun at FED!We have a lot of fun and exciting things happening with your students recently! Here are a few highlights:

- In Ms. Bossert’s art club, we have seen dozens of students stay after school on Thursdays to work on special projects using a wide variety of supplies.
- Homecoming - What a great event!  Our Lobos won 26-13 and we had over 110 students there to cheer for the team.  Thank you for your support of our athletics program.
- All students are working on “reading streaks” - reading multiple days in a row. Some students recently reached 40 days of reading in a row!
Extended After-School SupportWe know that some students require extended support to do their best work. With that in mind, starting October 20, teachers will be assigning students extended academic and social emotional support when the school day ends. When your student is assigned extended support, you can expect to receive a text message from a school administrator no later than 2:30 pm and a follow up phone call or text message from the assigning teacher at the end of the day.
School Board ElectionsDuring our most recent family council meeting, we discussed the importance of the upcoming school board election.  While we cannot endorse a specific candidate, we do ask that you vote.  Information about the candidates can be found here.  Additionally, you can view the recorded candidate forum here.
CMAS & ACCESS Score ReportsYour student’s advisor will distribute last year’s CMAS and ACCESS testing score reports by Friday, October 22. Please ask your student to share the report with you at home and let us know if you have questions about the reports.
Pajama PantsPajama pants are not part of our uniform guidelines. Please review the uniform guidelines with your student and ensure they are not wearing pajama pants to school.
