Coronavirus Update: Athletics canceled and what we know at this time (Español)

March 12, 2020
By admin

Dear STRIVE Prep Families,

The situation related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our local community is moving quickly and we wanted to share with you what we know at this time.

Denver Public Schools has closed three schools based on positive tests for family members. At this time, we are not aware of any confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the STRIVE Prep network. We understand parents’ concerns and precautions related to this illness. Please know that STRIVE Prep parents/guardians who choose to opt their students out of school during this time will have those absences excused.

Sports and activities across the state that are CHSAA or Denver Metro League related are also impacted, which includes STRIVE Prep schools. CHSAA announced today, “All spring sports and activities including practices will be suspended until April 6th to address concerns surrounding the on-going decisions with COVID-19 pandemic.” This includes many STRIVE Prep sports such as soccer, track and field, baseball, volleyball and speech & debate.

Please continue to follow DPS announcements related to school closures.  STRIVE Prep will follow all DPS related decisions to COVID-19 and will make them available to you as soon as we know. For the most up to date information, please follow us on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/STRIVEPrep

The health and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority and we appreciate your support during this unique time.
