Masks required indoors for all students and teachers

August 03, 2021
By admin

We’re so excited to kick off the new school year with you in-person! While the pandemic is still having a negative impact on so many communities, and especially with the introduction of the very contagious Delta variant, we believe that by following the expert guidance, we can have a safe and healthy learning environment in all of our schools.

Both the American Association of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control have recently recommended that all staff and students, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, wear masks in indoor school settings this fall.  In the interest of the safety of our students, families, and teachers, especially those students who are not yet vaccinated, STRIVE Prep will follow this guidance.

Following the Denver Public Schools’ announcement, beginning Monday, August 9, masks are required for all staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor settings, including all STRIVE Prep schools.

Protecting you, our students and families, is of the utmost importance.

Some additional points on STRIVE Prep’s approach to health and safety are:

  • Consistent with the City order, all STRIVE Prep staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by September 30.
  • COVID-19 vaccines are strongly recommended for community members, and students ages 12 and above. If you would like to be vaccinated, but have not yet had the chance, information from the City of Denver can be found here.
  • Masks are not required outdoors
  • At this time, there are no restrictions regarding distancing in classrooms or gatherings of students or staff
  • Due to the aforementioned masking expectations and our current community vaccination rate, quarantine procedures will not be necessary for our schools when a positive case is identified in a routine school or classroom setting.

In-person learning has a more positive and lasting impact on students which is why all STRIVE Prep schools are aiming for 100% in-person learning this school year. Students return to school the week of August 16, please check your school’s calendar for specific start dates for your child’s school and grade.

Thank you for supporting us as we do our best to keep students, staff and the community safe during this terrible pandemic. We look forward to a joyful and successful 2021-22 school year!
