Dear Rocky Mountain Prep Community,
I am so excited to join Rocky Mountain Prep as the next CEO. I’ve been honored to work alongside incredible students, families, teachers, leaders, and staff to cultivate vibrant schools where all students academically excel for the past 15 years as a teacher, a principal and most recently as a leader of a network of 16 IDEA Public Schools. This commitment to cultivating great schools only intensified when I became a Mom to my four incredible kids: Mia (10), Kaleb (8), Maribel (6) and Ava (4). The work became incredibly more personal and high stakes as I had the honor of leading a network of schools attended by my own children.
As I got to know James and the RMP team, I’ve been blown away by the commitment to do right by kids and provide an amazing environment where staff, students, and families alike can unlock their fullest potential. I’m so excited to be at RMP because I know we make a commitment to the whole child.
RMP lives its culture of Rigor and Love because it’s so clear that while academic success is key, our kids need more than just strong academic skills to live choice-filled, liberated lives. The COVID-19 pandemic has only made it more clear how much more work is needed to ensure that this country lives up to the promises it makes to all children, particularly to children of color. I’m excited to do that work alongside all of you.
Growing up in the Rio Grande Valley in deep South Texas, I was uplifted by my community, my family, and by mentors who had a deep belief in my potential. I’m so humbled by the opportunity to lead RMP and ensure that we continue to create opportunities for every child we serve to shine and unlock their fullest potential. I’m excited to get started by listening to our staff and our families to learn more about what makes RMP great and what is most needed to successfully launch us into this exciting new chapter. The RMP team and community have built an incredible network, and I'm so excited to partner with James and our team during this transition to make sure RMP doesn’t skip a beat.
