STRIVE Prep - Federal is  excited to announce updated start and end times for the 2022-2023 school year! The school day will begin at 8:15 am and end at 3:15 pm,  Monday through Friday. We believe that maintaining the same bell schedule throughout the week best serves our students and their families. Additionally, know that the STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill bell times will be 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. As always, I encourage you to contact the front office directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Good NewsFamily Observational Rounds

STRIVE Prep - Federal families are observing our teachers and students in action during the school day! All Family Observational Round ends with a meeting with the school principal to discuss what is working well and what can be improved upon. Thank you for your feedback! 8th Grade Egg Drop Experiment

8th Grade students participated in an Egg Drop Experiment this week, where they worked in groups to figure out how to use certain materials to keep an egg safe from a 10-foot and 3-story drop. Some eggs survived the drop from the third floor! If you have an 8th-grader, ask them if their egg cracked or not!

Why: To have fun as a community
Who: All our families, including Ruby Hill 5th grade families

You can bring some food to share if you would like to, but it is NOT required. See you there! 
Official School VisitsSchoolChoice Round 1 will open on Friday, January 14, 2022. Our entire staff has been making personal phone calls to all local 5th grade families, and we are seeing tremendous excitement about joining our school! Please check out the information below and let your neighbors and friends know!

Science Verbal ExamsAll middle school students who take a science class will be participating in a verbal exam on Tuesday, December 14th. Students will share their understanding of rock transformations or thermal energy (6th grade), microbiome, metabolism, or traits and reproduction (7th grade), and energy, light waves, or forces and motion (8th grade). Help your student prepare by asking them what they are learning in class!
6th Grade Legacy Project6th grade World Studies is finishing up  the unit on Ancient Egypt. Students have been discussing the 7 elements of civilization and how each element shows up in ancient civilizations. On Tuesday, December 14th from 1:00 to 1:45pm, the cafeteria will be turned into our 6th grade students’ legacy museum. Please come see your students’ work and listen to the legacy they hope to leave in the future!

Toys for Tots Pickup: December 4, 2021 @8:45 - 4:00p.m. National Western Complex, Denver, Colorado, 80216. Birth certificates are REQUIRED for each child you would like to get toys for. Parents MUST bring a photo ID. No exceptions to these rules will be made. A completed survey is required before you can shop and will be given out on the day of the event. If you do not get a spot when registration opens, you can come to the National Western Complex at 4 pm on December 4, 2021, and see if we have additional toys.
