RMP Sunnyside is moving into the RMP Berkeley building beginning in the 2024-25 school year!

January 12, 2024
By Sally Winter

Dear Rocky Mountain Prep Berkeley and Sunnyside Families,

We are writing today with some exciting news about your school. Beginning next school year (2024-25), the RMP Sunnyside school will be located in the same building as RMP Berkeley, just a few miles away (3752 Tennyson Street). By moving RMP Sunnyside into the RMP Berkeley building, we can address a number of needs for students and families and have a true ECE-8th grade learning experience in one location.  There are some key benefits to this relocation:

  • We can now offer the opportunity for siblings to share one location over a longer period, something our families have said they would like.
  • Unlike the current Sunnyside facility, RMP owns the Berkeley building and as such, we are able to respond to needs and make changes more quickly on behalf of our students' and staff's needs.
  • By co-locating these two schools, RMP can deliver a rigorous and joyful academic experience from the moment your child begins school, through their middle school years. Our Berkeley Bees can stay in the same building and become Sunnyside Hornets as they grow up.
  • Current Berkeley fifth graders are able to continue into sixth grade at the current location.

For our Sunnyside Hornets, we know this has the most impact on you. To help with the transition, RMP is offering a free bus to transport students from the Sunnyside building to the Berkeley building for all of next year. We’re excited for you to visit the Berkeley building and learn more about your child’s middle school experience in the new location.

Please join us to learn more about this relocation and ask questions you may have specific to your needs:

  • RMP Sunnyside Family Town Hall:  Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 pm at RMP Sunnyside
  • RMP Berkeley Family Town Hall: Friday, January 19 at 2:30 pm at RMP Berkeley and on Zoom

We look forward to seeing you and talking more about this exciting move and our continued partnership in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Tricia Noyola, RMP CEO

Pat Donovan, RMP Board Chair Principal

Aime Cano, RMP Berkeley Principal

Cate Dance, RMP Sunnyside

Atentamente,

Tricia Noyola, Directora RMP

Pat Donovan, Director General RMP  de la Junta Educativa,

Aime Cano,  Directora  RMP Berkeley

Cate Dance, Directora RMP Sunnyside
