It’s hard to believe that we just began the new year in this new learning environment and we’re already beginning our planning for Quarter 2. We are committed to making a decision by October 1 about what the learning environment will look like in Quarter 2, which begins October 16. The more prepared we are for the upcoming quarter, the better we’ll be able to support you and your child during these COVID-19 impacts.
While we are closely monitoring what Denver Public Schools and other districts are doing, STRIVE Prep will make an independent decision about our Quarter 2 learning model. Right now, we are considering a variety of learning models including: continuing remotely; hybrid which includes in-person and remote learning; and full-time in-person learning. We are also looking at other ways for your children to socialize or incorporate safe ways to do activities. Our decisions will be based on health data, operational capacity, staff input, and family input.
Along with family input, we’ve put together an internal group to meet weekly over the next six weeks to support our planning and decision-making. The group is made up of principals, teachers, and central office leaders, represented from each STRIVE Prep school. This team will review available health data which focuses on the number of cases and possible trends with positive infection rates in our community.
