You may have noticed that at RMP we are putting a particular emphasis this year on attendance. Yes, attendance is necessary to achieve academic goals -- and it is about so much more!
Having students in school every day, ready to learn is one of many ways we are working to support our students on their path to success. Having our students and staff together is also essential to building the culture of love and joy that makes Rocky Mountain Prep special.
In any given week, there are a number of important and exciting things happening in our school, and we want to be sure all of our students are present to celebrate and learn with us.
Just a few examples of things happening in school this month:
- Important assessments for us to track students’ learning
- Celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month
- Lessons on reading and math that build on each other, and lead to key mastery milestones
- Spirit Weeks! (Watch for information from your specific RMP campus for spirit week activities and themes.)
Of importance to note is that our school will be participating in October count next week - a state-wide count through which we receive funding for your students’ education.
Attendance on Friday, October 1st in particular, is especially important as it impacts our schools’ funding!
If for any reason you are hearing from your child that they don’t want to go to school, we want to hear about that and partner with you to better understand why. Please don’t hesitate to talk with your child’s teacher, and we can work together to come up with a plan to support your student.
We look forward to a year ahead filled with an abundance of learning and joy!
