STRIVE Prep - Montbello is getting a new home beginning next school year!
Our STRIVE Prep - Montbello campus has lived at its current location since 2015 on a shared campus with two other district schools. The location is the former home of a high school, and with community support, the school board made the decision to turn it back into a high school and relocate STRIVE Prep - Montbello to the Rachel B. Noel campus, just 2 miles away, after the 2021-22 school year.
What you need to know:
- Impacts on students and teachers during the school year will be minimal as we aim to make the transition as smooth as possible
- The new location is just 2 miles east of the current location and will be in the Rachel B. Noel Campus, with bus transportation options
- STRIVE Prep is considering changing the name of the school to better reflect the new campus and community; this would not take effect until the new school year. Additional information will be communicated as part of the renaming effort
- Much of the move will occur during summer and students will begin the 2022-23 school year in the new location
- The new location allows for expanded programs, activities and sports
- The new location will be shared with another district school, Montbello Middle School
- We expect many of the teachers and staff will remain the same and move to the new location
What you need to do:
- Current 6th and 7th grade students:
- No action is needed to continue attending STRIVE Prep - Montbello for the 2022-23 school year.
- Prospective/incoming students, all grades:
- If your child is in 5th grade or currently attends a different school for 6th or 7th grade and you would like to attend STRIVE Prep - Montbello next year, make sure to put STRIVE Prep - Montbello as your #1 on the SchoolChoice Application to have the best chance of getting into the school. SchoolChoice enrollment opens January 14. STRIVE Prep - Montbello will continue to use the DPS SchoolChoice enrollment process. Nuestro campus de STRIVE Prep - Montbello ha estado en su ubicación actual desde 2015, en un campus compartido con otras dos escuelas del distrito.
