All students move to remote learning beginning Nov. 30

With the rise and increased spread of COVID-19 in our community and across the state, Denver Public Schools is moving all students to remote learning beginning Monday, November 30. This includes grades K-2 at STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill as well as our special education center programs. 

STRIVE Prep schools is following this DPS decision and extending our remote learning for K-12 students. All STRIVE Prep schools, including both elementary and middle schools, will be in remote learning through at least January 18. This decision supports staff and student mental and physical health and safety, by distancing after the holidays to prevent potential spread. Denver Public Schools decides on the learning model for our special education center program, so those programs alone may operate on a different timeline.

During the first two weeks of January, while engaging in remote learning, we will assess the health and safety metrics.  If COVID-19 metrics significantly improve, we will consider resuming in-person learning at elementary schools, and learning centers at middle and high schools, beginning January 19 or later.

Finally, as we get ready to be on vacation next week, in the spirit of gratitude I’d like to take a moment to show my appreciation to all of you. 

I am grateful for your support of students right now - as a parent, I myself know tensions in supporting our children’s well-being and education. We know how hard you are working and we are enormously grateful. I’m grateful for our students, getting up every day, getting back online, getting back on camera, pushing themselves to learn more while presented with many reasons not to.  I’m grateful to share a community with you all where we care for one another.  It’s our greatest strength right now.

Snow Day Policy

DPS recently announced that snow days will be remote learning days this year, rather than full closures.  Given how much learning time our students have already lost this year, we support this approach, and STRIVE Prep will follow this policy.

Free COVID-19 tests

Through the end of the year, COVIDCheck Colorado (CCC) is now offering free testing to anyone in Colorado! This means that your family, neighbors, students, and their families can all be tested for free to help slow the spread of COVID.  

• Free COVID testing is now available through the end of December, for adults and children (over 1 year old)

Estimadas familias de STRIVE Prep:

 Con el aumento en contagios de COVID 19 en nuestra comunidad y en todo el estado, Denver Public Schools decidió que todos los estudiantes estarán en aprendizaje remoto a partir del lunes 30 de noviembre. Esto incluye los grados K-2 de STRIVE Prep - Ruby Hill, así como nuestros programas de los centros de educación especial. 

Las escuelas de STRIVE Prep se apegan a esta decisión de DPS y extienden el aprendizaje remoto para los estudiantes de kinder a 12º. Todas las escuelas de STRIVE Prep, incluyendo tanto primaria como secundaria, seguirán en aprendizaje remoto hasta por lo menos el 18 de enero. Sabemos cuánto se están esforzando y estamos profundamente agradecidos. Agradezco a nuestros estudiantes por levantarse cada mañana, conectarse en línea, encender sus cámaras, hacer un esfuerzo por aprender más cuando tienen muchas razones para no hacerlo. Agradezco ser parte de una comunidad donde nos cuidamos entre todos. Esa es nuestra mayor fortaleza en este momento.

Política para los días de nieve

DPS anunció recientemente que los días de nieve serán días de aprendizaje remoto o en línea este año en lugar de cancelar las clases por completo. Considerando cuánto tiempo de clases ya han perdido nuestros estudiantes este año, apoyamos esta decisión y STRIVE Prep se apegará a esta decisión.

Pruebas COVID 19 gratis para la gente de Colorado
