When our community votes, our kids win: commit to vote!

October 04, 2021   |   By Lela Johnston, Director of External Relations

At Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP), we believe deeply in empowering our families and staff to be advocates for themselves and our communities by being registered and turning out to vote* in elections.

This year, both Denver and Aurora Public Schools will elect four new members to their School Boards. This election is incredibly important because School Board members make decisions that affect every RMP scholar, staff member, and family.

Make a plan to vote by Tuesday, November 2nd, by following these three easy steps:

1. Register to vote, commit to vote, and/or double-check your voter registration.

This can be done at! Simply enter your information in one of the sections, and we will be in touch with all of the information you need to register and vote on November 2nd.

2. Receive your ballot.

Counties will begin mailing ballots to those who are registered on October 9. If you register to vote by October 25, you will receive your ballot in the mail.

3. Go vote!

Option 1: Return your ballot in person. Once you’ve completed your ballot, you can drop it off for free at a nearby ballot drop box or polling location. Find your closest drop-off point here.

Option 2: Return your ballot by mail. This requires postage and that you put your ballot in the mail no later than October 25 to ensure your ballot is counted.

Option 3: Vote in person. Bring an acceptable form of identification to any polling location to vote in person before 7pm on November 2.

*To register to vote in Colorado, you must:

- be a citizen of the United States;

- be a resident of Colorado 22 days prior to Election Day;

- be 18 years old on or before Election Day; and

- not be serving a sentence of detention, confinement, or parole for a felony conviction.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, Rocky Mountain Prep cannot support or oppose candidates for public office; our role in elections is to encourage civic participation and promote voter education in our community.
